AR Rahman to recompose Roja Music

Oscar Award winner A.R Rahman is going to give a fresh flavor to his first movie Roja. A.R Rahman might be hands full with his Indian and international projects, but that doesn’t make him to go back to his first ever movie and recompose it.

As per sources Rahman will be re-recording the music of the much acclaimed movie, ‘Roja’. The music composer started his musical journey with this Mani Ratnam movie and it was the same movie which rocketed him to success skies.

Roja soundtrack is among the “10 Best Soundtracks” of all time listed by TIME magazine, issued in 2005. Hence the newly composed Roja soundtrack will surely have global audiences. The new ‘Roja’ will be released overseas with English sub titles.

Actress Sameera Reddy moved to Chennai

Bollywood beauty and South Indian actress Sameera Reddy who acted with Surya in Super hit Vaaranam Aayiram has now now moved to Chennai from her Mumbai residence. She said that, “Now, I want to fully concentrate on Tamil films. Unless, I provide an easy approach for my Tamil producers, it is quite impossible to make a comeback for me.

I have shifted to Chennai, since I prefer Kollywood than bollywood because I got the recognition as an actress from here only. My previous film in Tamil ‘Vaaranam Aayiram’ with actor Surya was a big hit and I was well received by the Tamil people.

Now, I have signed another film with director Gautam Menon, which will be started very soon. There are two more films in negotiation and probably one out of it will be finalized very soon.

Shilpa Shetty buys stake in Gourmet Group


Actress, Shilpa Shetty and her fiancé, entrepreneur Raj Kundra announced a 33 percent stake in V8 Gourmet Group. V8 is an international Indian food company valued at GBP 20 million and encompasses The Bombay Bicycle Club Kitchens, Tiffinbites, Vama and Gourmet Creations brands.

The GBP 6 million investments will be used to expand the company’s successful Bombay Bicycle Club Kitchens delivery service, which currently has 15 Delivery Kitchens in the UK. It will also enable the company to expand the Tiffinbites restaurants, concessions and franchises in London and abroad. Global expansion for V8 includes the opening of two Tiffinbites casual dining and shopping mall dining formats in Dubai (October 2009) and Jordan (March 2010).

“I feel proud to be associated with the V8 Group. They have carved a niche for themselves in the Indian food industry in the last 13 years, and spell consistency, quality and authentic Indian food. I know that our partnership will grow and envisage a great future with a whole new line of products and restaurants all over Europe, Dubai and Jordan,” stated Shilpa Shetty.

The investment will also see the launch of Ms Shetty’s Gourmet Creations Range of premium authentic gourmet meals, chutneys and pickles. The range will initially be North Indian and will later offer tastes of Shilpa’s mother tongue region.
Mr Kundra has a diverse portfolio of international investments and is also owner of a cricket team and concrete production company in the Ukraine.

She adds: “I vowed on that day to master English and to make it big in filmdom. Now, I know the language very well and I am there in the hearts of millions of fans. This is all thanks to the challenge I took on that day.”

Saying that she has shed six kilos following advice from her friends and well-wishers, Namitha adds, “at present I am acting in a Telugu film opposite Balakrishna. Talks are on to sign on the dotted lines for a Kannada movie. I would like to make it big in Sandalwood too.”

'Endhiran' and 'Kutty' for Diwali ?

A birdie says that Dhanush is excited about the release of ‘Endhiran’ and ‘Kutty’ for Diwali. One might wonder what is the reason behind the excitement of Dhanush right? So, here is the point. It’s heard that mappillai Dhanush is eager to participate in Diwali race with his mamanar’s ‘Endhiran’. So he straight away advised the producer of ‘Kutty’ to sell the film to Sun TV. Looks like Sun TV was moreover happy about the film and bought it for a good rate.

‘Ninaithale Inikkum’ of Gemini Films Circuit was bought by Sun TV and will be released soon in the month of September. So, it is supposed that Sun TV has decided to have ‘Kutty’ as Diwali release. At the same time Shankar’s magnum opus ‘Endhiran’ is also anticipated as a Diwali release seeing that just 10% of the shoot is remaining.

Even if everyone are happy about ‘Kutty’ and ‘Endhiran’ releasing together for Diwali, director Mithran Jawahar is not convinced about ‘Kutty’ joining the Diwali race. It is heard that the director is asking why should ‘Kutty’ wait till Diwali and is insisting to release it soon after ‘Ninaithale Inikkum’.

Hmmm... This proves that if we need one, we will have to sacrifice the other!

Aadhavan audio launched

Aadhavan’s audio was launched on Aug 19th evening at Sathyam Cinemas, Chennai. Shankar released the audio while Ramanarayanan received it. Udayanidhi Stalin, Suriya, K.S Ravikumar, Harris Jayaraj, Vijay, Vivek, Sasi Kumar were among the others who were present for the function.

Some of the big guns of Tamil film industry including director Shankar and actor Vijay took part at the audio and trailer launch of ‘Aadhavan’ in Chennai Wednesday night. The film, with Suriya and Nayantara in the lead, is directed by K S Ravikumar and produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin.

In his address, Shankar hailed Ravikumar as a director of the producers. “The visuals of ‘Aadhavan’ are very good. Kudos to Ravikumar, Suriya and the entire team of Aadhavan,” he said.

Vijay, who received the first copy of the trailer from producer R B Chowdry, said, “Suriya is a man of hard work and commitment. I always admire him a lot. He has proved himself once again in Aadhavan.”

Thanking all the guests for attending the function, Udhayanidhi Stalin hoped that the box-office collections by ‘Aadhavan’ would surpass the revenue made by ‘Ayan’. “Ravikumar is not just the director of the film. He has taken complete care of the project. He is almost like a producer,” Udhayanidhi said.

Music composer of the movie Harris Jayaraj said the producer was planning to start a new movie soon with Suriya in the lead. “A R Murugadoss would direct it and I would take care of the music,” he said.

Tamil Film Producers Council president Rama Narayanan, Amirtham of Kalaignar TV, Vivek, Dharani, Sasikumar and others attended the function.

'Thillalangadi' Movie Launch

Actor Vijay, director Shankar, actress Kushboo, producers AVM Saravanan, Siva and Ramkumar among others attended the muhurrat of ‘Thillalangadi’, a remake of Telugu hit ‘Kick’, at AVM Studios in Chennai on Wednesday.

A scene involving Jayam Ravi and Tamannah was being shot today. Directed by Raja, the film has Jayam Ravi, Tamannah, and Shaam playing the lead roles. The movie has musical score by Yuvan Shankar Raja.

'I like actress Tamannah and I have seen all her films. I am happy to act with her. I admire her acting skills. She is sure to excel in her role in Thillalangadi', said Jayam Ravi.

'It is my fifth movie with my brother (Raja). We share a good rapport. I am confident that ‘Thillalangadi’ will become a big hit', he said

Tamannah said, ' working for Jayam Company is a delight. I play a bubbly young girl in the movie. My co-stars Jayam Ravi and Shaam are nice to work with'.

Shaam, who played the same role in the Telugu original said, 'I have a great regard for Raja. When he approached me to do the role in Tamil, I had no hesitation in accepting it'.

‘Kick’ was a huge hit in Telugu. Raja is confident that like his previous films (which were Telugu remakes), ‘Thillalangadi’ too would make it big'.
